THE JOURNEY THAT STARTED IT ALL
Travellodging began with a simple observation: too many visitors to Canada were missing out on the authentic experiences that make this country truly special. They were seeing the postcard views but missing the rich stories and hidden gems that locals cherish.
Founded in 2015 by a collective of experienced guides and travel professionals, we set out to create a different kind of tour company—one that emphasizes quality over quantity, authenticity over staged attractions, and meaningful connections over passive sightseeing.
Starting with just three signature tours in British Columbia, we've grown to offer dozens of carefully crafted experiences across Canada's provinces and territories, from urban explorations to wilderness adventures. Throughout our growth, we've remained committed to our founding principles.
Today, Travellodging is recognized as a leader in experiential travel in Canada, known for our exceptional guides, thoughtfully designed itineraries, and commitment to sustainable tourism practices.
Over the past decade, we've helped thousands of travelers from around the world discover the authentic heart of Canada. As we look to the future, we remain passionate about creating travel experiences that educate, inspire, and create lasting memories.
HOW WE CRAFT OUR EXPERIENCES
At Travellodging, we believe that exceptional travel experiences don't happen by accident. Here's how we approach the art of guided travel:
Exceptional Guides
Our guides are the heart of our company. We carefully select individuals who combine deep knowledge with exceptional communication skills and genuine passion. All our guides undergo extensive training and many specialize in specific regions or themes.
Thoughtful Itineraries
We design our tours to balance iconic highlights with off-the-beaten-path discoveries, active exploration with reflective moments, and structured activities with free time. Each itinerary is crafted to tell a coherent story about a place.
Small Groups
We limit our group sizes to ensure personalized attention, easier access to unique venues, and minimal impact on the places we visit. Small groups also foster meaningful connections between travelers.
Local Partnerships
We collaborate with local businesses, artisans, experts, and indigenous communities to create authentic experiences that benefit the places we visit. These partnerships give our travelers access to people and places they couldn't discover on their own.
Sustainable Practices
From minimizing waste to carbon offsetting and supporting conservation initiatives, we're committed to responsible tourism practices that help preserve Canada's natural and cultural heritage.
Continuous Improvement
We carefully review traveler feedback and industry developments to continually refine our offerings. Our team regularly explores new destinations and experiences to keep our tours fresh and engaging.
We believe that exceptional travel experiences and environmental responsibility go hand in hand. At Travellodging, sustainability isn't just a marketing buzzword—it's integrated into everything we do.
